I have solar and battery (8.2 kWh GE 3 kWh)
I regularly use Timed Charge, making use of low Agile rates to get power into battery in these low solar days..
I am finally on Agile outgoing, having waited 12 weeks for permission from my DNO. Octopus sorted everything in 2 days.
I want to send to the grid when the outgoing payments are high.
Should I use Timed Discharge or Timed Export?
What is the difference between these two inverter settings?

Rbor timed discharge will cover your house load only, but doesn't seem to play well with time charge so ignore it.
Timed export will send the battery charge to the grid at whatever rate you set until either the timer runs out, your battery runs out or you hit the lower threshold you set. This is manual though so your best bet is to set Eco mode on, timed charge as required and then manually turn on timed export as and when. Set yourself a reminder after the export period to switch back to Eco.
Unless you have homeassistant & GivTCP set up to build some automation...

It's my first day on Agile Outgoing and I exported about 3 kWh 16:30 to 17:30, all units at over £1. I will be able to get the power back in later this evening, but need to pick slots carefully as Agile import prices are really high. Battery is really proving its worth.

Cdent Can I ask what happens when you are doing Timed Export set to a max of 3kW (eg for me it would be 4-7pm on Octopus Flux) but the house then has a demand for electric - say 2kW and there's no Solar (because it's too dark these days) - does it draw the required power from the battery and reduce the export to 3-2=1kW? Or what?
johnsherman yep that's it, house load is covered first and the rest is exported. So a discharge of 3kW (ignoring conversion losses) and a load of 2kW will lead to export of 1kW
