I've dropped into a fifth dimension full of Geeks, here's my level, what's an API..
I have the GE play store app.
How do I control my system like a commissioning engineer can

API = application programming interface. Used by people with much more software knowledge than most of us, to allow software control of their GE systems.

An Engineer account is different to a User account. Only registered installers get the full control (including being able to initiate a commissioning calibration cycle (full discharge and full charge).

The Playstore App gives you visibility and control of most things, but the cloud (i.e. web site) portal will give you much more detailed information and more control. In general, people say the Portal is far more reliable than the App. But be aware that the App is also prone to displaying false values and is not always able to stay connected (directly) to your equipment, when in the 'Home' mode (which has the advantage of updates every 10 seconds). The 'Away' mode gives you data via the GE server and gets updated every 5 minutes.

mikelonerider if you need help with the portal there is a tutorial you can use to give you an overview, usually appears when you first log in, otherwise go to Account Settings, Completed Tours and bin the one called "Intro to New Dashboard (Welcome to the new GivEnergy dashboard!)"

As for how to use the system, there are plenty of threads on this forum, there is the Knowlegebase as well (https://kb.givenergy.cloud/) and another user on here has developed their own Wiki site which may help as well (https://wiki.terravolt.co.uk/), credit to @hoggy.
