As soon as I updated the app this week, my phone just shows Away, and says I am not connected to the same wifi as my Inverter, so won't switch to 'Home' when I get back to the house. Is anyone else seeing the same problem?

Yes the performance is much worse, even though the app update said that this should have been improved. I personally didn't have a problem with the previous performance.
As with any bad updates, it might be worth doing the standard Android fix of clear cache, clear data, uninstall the app and reinstall. I haven't tried that yet myself because I only updated yesterday.

Also, after doing all the above, turn the phone off & back on again. That helped cure it for me. But it still takes quite a few attempts to get it to lock on to the local WiFi, but keep trying and once it has found the "Home" inverter it tends to stay with it (until next time you restart the app).

This is what helped me with previous versions:
Someone suggested the app Net Analyzer to check the ip address, Mine was HF-A21.home where HF presumably stands for Shanghai High Flying Electronics Technology...!
In the GE app look for Settings/Local Monitoring/Search manually and enter the ip address.
The new app is working ok for me on auto now (Samsung).
Good luck!

nigelb59 Mine too. "Local Search Failed" I've sent in a bug report. Maybe we all should to get some attention.....? This is really not acceptable.

wrefordj Thats helpful. Where do you find the ip address of the inverter?

Get the inverter IP from logging into your router and checking address allocation for devices. If it isn’t set to a fixed IP, set it - the WiFi dongle jumps around and requests new addresses when IP lease ends.
Fixed IP for HF-A21 is essential in my experience.

I’m having the same issues. Was all working fine until a few updates popped out earlier this week. I’ve got both Android and Apple phones to try this on and both demanded I update or I couldn’t use the app then both have lost the ability to find the inverter on Wi-Fi and also cannot see the inverter options button at the bottom centre to let me switch to export etc (play button and batt +/-). I’ve been waiting all week for an update as clearly this app update has not been tested sufficiently and should be reverted to the old version in the app stores as we have lost key functionality. Would like an update on this please GE as I’d expect something so significant to be addressed quickly and hopefully simply until further testing is conducted. I’ll raise a support case in a moment in case this thread has not yet been spotted.

Mrbroons to sort the inverter options button missing go into the menu top left, settings, preferences & switch on the system modes button.

Spot on. Thanks. Now that is back. Tried clearing data and fully re installing the app. Still no local search working.
