Hi All,
The DEVS have asked me to pass on this questionnaire following on from the recent stresses the updates have caused in relation to the local monitoring feature.
If you have a spare few minutes, please click on the below link and fill out the form. Your feedback would be incredibly useful!

GivEnergy App Local Monitoring Questionnaire
Not sure about anyone else but I'm getting a 404 error when I try that link 🙁
Me too

Same, should it be shared from a google drive???
I followed the link from the Facebook group which worked ok.

Hey all,
We've just updated the link in George's post - you should be able to fill out the questionnaire now!

(reminded me to reserve a DNS entry for the WiFi dongle!)
To the questionnaire author...I answered the survey questions based on the installed version v3.1.23.???? (I can't remember the final digits). That version wasn't working for me. After the questionnaire suggested trying a different handset I found that handset worked fine. It wasn't until after I'd submitted the questionnaire that I thought to check the version numbers and noticed that there was a version released yesterday. I've since updated my original handset to version v3.1.24.3149 and found it now connects to 'Home' and seems the issue for me is resolved. It renders my questionnaire answers void.
Ditto for me. Mine also updated to 3.1.24.3149 and now seems to be playing fine.
Was working on previous version, 3.1.24.3149 has broken both my Android devices.

Done George
Looking at these early comments, and some of the other threads, it looks like we have yet another flip-flop situation, where switching from version 23 to 24 helps some, but does the opposite for others. I am on 23 on will stick with it for now, as it works quite well.
Perhaps GE should make two versions available, until they can figure out what the factor is, that results in the two camps.
I had an odd one today. It showed connected to Home but didn't update - timer just kept going up. Closing and restarting made no difference. However, I popped into Local Monitoring settings and waited for the tick against the ip address went back and bingo - updating.
I've used this method of forcing it to connect to home when the app refuses even after pressing retry.
I get that sometimes. I press away then home and it normally sorts itself out.

One thing that doesn't work, is local monitor over VPN to home network. Doesn't try. Must need WiFi to try and search. No issue, but someone may moan
TheDragon (GivEnergy) I think that must depend on th VPN service used. It works over both wireguard vpn and teleport vpn with my unify router.

Argh ok. I use Wireguard Addon IN Home Assistant to access my HOME LAN, the wire guard Subnet is routed to my main network. I can p9ing the inverter, even loginto its dongle. But the Local search doesnt try and find it.
No biggie, as I have HoneAssistant both home, Away and VPN for realtime monitoring.

Until I filled in this questionaire my app worked fine. Now it's crap!! Figures seem all over the place and the refresh is either slow or needs me to manually refresh it.
I ven have to reboot the app to get it to refresh.
Iphone XR on IOS 16.1.2

If it's any help:
My IPad is on IOS 16.1.1. and GE app version 3.1.2.4
The app on this IPad seems more stable, but it is still losing data and needs to be refreshed to bring it back.
The home button is highlighted to show it is connected but is still saying it is not connected to my Inverter (SAxxxxx).
To me it seems that the app is connected to my inverter but cannot recognise the serial number.
However updates still seem to be coming for the cloud as they only seem to refresh every 5 mins.
For those with TP-Link Deco mesh WiFi I think I've gotten my setup to work by disabling "Mesh Technology" for the GE inverter in the Deco app and then restarting the invertal via the GE portal.

Edit: and now it's back to "Local Search Failed" again
I thought it was better but it's just as bad but in a different way. It's showing as offline a lot, enough though it's not. SoC not available showing a lot for the battery too.
TonyHayden I don't think the GE WiFi dongles support 802.11s mesh standards. I have FRITZ! mesh for a couple of years and it's disappointing how many devices don't support mesh.
@Givenergy I hope you can add mesh support into new dongles in the future.
Android app v3.1.24.3149 refuses to work in Local (Home) monitoring - no longer updates every 10 seconds.
Have tried removing all data and cache and uninstalling from phone.
Upon reinstallation it seems to have remembered my login credentials (so it appears that removing all data and cache doesn't actually work)
I wish app upgrades were thoroughly tested by a testing team rather than being hurriedly launched or ensure you have the dev and test resources to deal with any unintended outcomes.
A bit of acknowledgement of problems and updated communications on progress towards a fix wouldn't go amiss either!
CCourtney My Android was the same, but after a couple of days with me changing nothing, it started to work perfectly, so there's hope for yours yet...
I've solved the problem!
In the App go to the menu. Select settings. Select 'Local Monitoring'
The slider on mine was set to On with the IP address listed as 192.168.1.150 which in my case was actually correct. I think when the app was updated this setting got turned on by default as I do not recall putting the 'Search Inverter Manually' to On.
Anyway if you set 'Search Inverter Manually' to Off, back out of Settings, shut the app down and then reopen it. You should then find that the dashboard power flow works correctly and updates every 10 seconds in 'Home' mode.
Thanks but, er.... nope....! 👎️ :-(
New version - it's working! No polling whole subnet for the manually configured inverter 😄
