Battery Sitting at 3% With No Forced Recovery Charge to 4%

In recent days my battery is now sitting at 3% and has not forced charged itself to recover to the usual 4% limit.
I reset the limit to 5% to see if if kicked in but that was unsuccessful.
I then forced charged it to 4% where is stayed until this morning and has now dropped to 3% again.
My inverter is in ECO mode and the battery lower limit is now set to 5%.

My thoughts are:

1) The battery recharge from PV has been almost none existent for the lat few days because of the weather which could mean the batteries are unable to recalibrate themselves. Today's forecast is good so it might sort itself out.

2) The display battery charge % is showing incorrectly.

3) There is a real issue and the batteries are actually below the limit 4% and damaging the cells.

Can someone from GE take a look?

This is just normal - to be expected. What you see as 4% is in fact more like 10%.

My battery has been as low as 1% several times and I've yet to see it recharge back up to 4% itself.

lower battery limit setting does not work with stock firmware. wait until after the 16th dec 2022 firmware release and that may also be corrected.

positor1 I agree that is a possiblity, but this is the first time this has happened since I've had the system (June 22)

The reserve is a limit below which the inverter does not discharge.

However, once at this level the battery itself will use some power just to operate and the level may continue to drop over time.

The inverter will kick in and charge again when the battery falls to a level protection is needed.

positor1 I think the battery reserve problem exists on AC-coupled inverters. I'm fairly sure the hybrids aren't affected (at least I've seen ours bounce from 0% and up to 4% with a grid charge).

Just had an email from GE support. ( I emailed them this morning)

They have had a look and agree with what I discovered so they have updated my Inverter firmware to fix the problem.

Hopefully that will cure it.

Quite surprised at the fast response!!
