I've just noticed I do not have access to my inverter using the APP.
My app is using the cloud link and is notifiyng me I have no local connection to my inverter.
I have now got access to the dongle and restarted it and also reset my router, but the app is still saying i have no connection.
The app is showing the correct IP address to my router and I have tried to manual connection plus letting the app find it. Still nothing.
The app will not join the dongle network when I request it.
Any ideas on why this has happened or whats causing it?

As I mentioned on your other thread, this may be due to the App updates. A new one came out yesterday, so if you installed this and the problem started after that, then the update is probably the culprit.
GE seem to be using two different methods for the App to connect to the dongle (for the 10s 'Home' updates). One method seems to work for some people, but not others. And the other method seems to do the opposite. So they have yet to find a single method that works for everyone.

I've deleted the app and re-installed it and input the ip address back in. (Checked the ip address the dongle is assigned on my router too)
App now will not even allow me to use the home button and site on the away button all the time.
A bloody five year old can write an app these days and not make these kinds of c*ck ups!!
For gods sake GE employ one!!

So after playing about, checking this and that, taking my Dongle out and putting in again (sounds like I'm doing the hokey cokey!!) I have now established that the dongle is connected to my router and back to the GE cloud and always was.
So i'm back to where I was with no local access and the App is still showing that I am connected to my local server. However, the dashboard is saying "no it isn't" even though the "Home " button is highlighted. So I am actually connected to the cloud and getting 5 minute updates when the app dashboard doesn't go blank!!
Can't GE just roll back the last update? I was working ok until then.

So if it is the App which is seemingly causing your problems, it may be worth clearing the cached data, which I believe is an option in the App somewhere. It will mean you have to log back in again, but that does some help some people.

In your shoes I would totally delete the app and all its data, download a fresh copy, and start again, It works perfectly well for the majority of people, so something is upsetting it on your device.

I am having similar problems, Only had my system for a week but the home connection on my android app is very hit and miss. Majority of time it wont connect and uses the cloud, other time it seems to connect. Vary strange and frustrating

So, I popped out at lunch time today. Returned home to find the GE APP on my IPad and Iphone working as it should!!
Updating itself every 11 secs and the displayed values are adding up.
Only thing still showing is the message on the Home button telling me the app is not connected to my inverter.
Someone has certainly done something back at GE HQ because I haven't, other than go out!!

wilfleek Not really sure you can make that claim. Based just on comments it seems more like 50/50 to me. Personally, mine works but only half the time.

Yes, it was fine until last week’s update of death.
