Until I get my export tariff sorted how can I stop sending back to the grid please

Technically you can't. If your battery is full and you are still producing solar then it will go into the grid for free. However SEG can be back dated if you let you know your supplier when your system went live.

Darrel_graves Ask your installer to set your grid export limit to 0. If they won't/can't, ask Givenergy to do it for you. Alternatively, it's not doing you any harm, just get your SEG tariff sorted asap. All you need is your MCS certificate and the DNO agreement letter.

Didn't know that. I'll get in touch with Octopus as we had exported about 1,400kWh before ours was sorted.

octopus told me that they couldnt back date any payments before it was sorted!

THALL Octopus refused to backdate my export which was annoying as I'd exported 800kWh by the time they got everything set up

I went with EON for SEG, I was only 6 months into a 24 month supply deal with them so I thought I'd leep it simple. I submitted the application along with a photo of the Export reading (required as part of the application) and they used that reading as the start reading for SEG when notification came through umpteen weeks later.

Cdent Mine was back dated by Octopus. I didn't have to ask they just said it would be.

THALL seems like the answer you get depends on the person replying, unless they had a change in policy at some point

My Batteries are at 28% but still all my excess solar keeps going to the grid, I want it to fill my batteries first, I've tried everything, it's set to dy amic and solar only for charging, what can I do as I do not have SEG setup yet and even when I do I want my batteries full first

Go into the web portal.
Go to My inverter.
Go to Settings.
Click "Reset to Defaults"
Go to Eco. Move the slider to Enabled. Click on Submit. Make sure that it reports back that it has been saved. Eco will try to minimise both import and export but using any solar generation to power the house. Any excess will be sent to the battery before the grid.
If you have a Time of Use tariff them set up a Timed Charge to coincide with the cheap period and set the slider to the percentage SoC that you want to exit the cheap period with. Again, click on Submit.
