Quick question. I've got a 5.2kWh GEN2 battery and GEN1 3Kw AC coupled inverter installed alongside our solar system. I'm planning to add a couple of 2.6kWh batteries to this (since 5.2kWh is heavily delayed / out-of-stock for most orders), but wondered precisely what battery cables/others bits do I need to order for this so that the electrician can install it?

WinterMJ is it worth the extra cost of the smaller batteries vs the wait? Some distributors appear to have stock of 5.2s, but only selling as part of a full system... find yourself an installer who is able to combine the orders.

Anything other than the 9.5 battery still uses cable and crimps not the fancy connector so all you need is some red and black cable and some crimps and a bit of cable for the comms link (Think some even comes in the box with the battery from memory)

So we managed to get a second 5.2kWh battery installed, albeit via a different installer. But the system has had to be switched off until the account can be moved from the original sparky to the new sparky, which is a bit of a hassle as who knows how long that will take..

WinterMJ Hmm that shouldn't be needed. My original system was installed by EON, my 9.5 batt was added by a local company. While they could not start the commision of the second new 9.5 a quick call to givenergy for them to do was all that was needed.

The cables come with the batteries

Not necessarily. You have to order the two ‘all-in-one to ring terminal’ cables separately but at the same time as the battery. My installer failed to do that despite me requesting which caused a delay of a week at installation time.

Toogie OP has 5.2, is adding 2.6.
Gen1 batteries come with 2m red and black 16mm cable in the box

Won’t you need BMS cabling between the batteries too?
