Additional battery question

I currently have 2x5.2kWh bateries and am considering increasing that with a third.

My batteries, being just over a year old must be Gen 1, so my questions are, what are the issues in adding a Gen 2 battery? Would it have to be the master? Are the new connectors OK with an older battery?

wilfleek only the 9.5kWh battery is gen 2. Alll others are still gen 1 and don't use the DC connector
