Will I get any different information on either the Dashboard or App on Economy 7? If so do I need to update my API?
In the third week of operation and all is going well.
When I get onto Outgoing Agile will there be a difference?

Provided the tariff data on the API is correct you should seen the days rates the previous periods usage and costs in the smart tariff widget.
When on Outgoing you should see that data in the widget and the app I believe - my exports as to another provider without API support, so guessing from the placeholders.

That should like a decent combination of tariffs that should pay off in the summer I’d have thought. Is Eco7 fixed or flexible and therefore likely to increase in April?

Need to get the smart meters working and streaming correctly in order to be able to use a variable tariff.
I live near Keighley and 33 months after having smart meters fitted they are still dumb.
Twice they were working.
The 1st time they stopped working was when I asked Octopus to change my export tariff and both import and export readings stopped straight away. I have been chasing Octopus for 10 weeks saying it must just be a setting at their end, but they insisted otherwise and that it must be a meter problem.
An engineer visited a week ago and communicated with someone (phone or message service I don't know as he was under the stairs) . Within 15 minutes all data was streaming to Octopus and GivEnergy dashboards - for 12 hours and then all stopped again.
I have chased Octopus again by email (no point phoning), but so far no reply.
I don't blame Octopus, I blame a hastily rolled out HMGov initiative that has lots of bugs that nobody really knows how to fix

I certainly blame octopus, I have had to ring them more than once a week since the middle of november. changed to eco 7, though it seems they dont call it that, in fact my tarriff name never changed but the rates did, the bills are a complete mess and the charges bear no relation to the smart meter data which they admit and every time tell me they will pass it on to a metering specialist and I never hear anything more.
i HAD ONLY HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT oCTOPUS BUT AM LEFT WONDERING HOW THAT COULD BE.
oops caps sorry.

The api information is also wrong, the rate it reports is not even close to any tarrif, most octopus staff have no idea what an api is.

Hi
I don't think it is just Octopus. I don't think anyone at the energy companies really understand as the communication is actually run by others.
When trying to sort out my meters they 1st told me the phone signal in my area was not good and that was not their fault.
I had to tell them that the metering in the North of UK is by RF (Arqiva) and not GSM as in the South (Telefonica).
They then said that I could not have a smart meter as I lived too close to the early warning radar at Fylingdales and that a new version comms hub was waiting to be available. I had to point out that where I live is 90 miles away with Leeds, York, Harrogate all in the way with working smart meters.
I think I talk to people at Octopus who just try to pacify me (they keep powering the meter on/off in the hope a reboot will sort it), but have no firm technical plan, and also pass the comments to a metering specialist and then hear nothing.

positor1 I had the same. Moved to eco 7 after moving my usage to save ££. Excited to check out my first bill and see how much I saved and the meter amounts didn’t add up to my times based usage. They hadn’t moved me to the new rates on the meter so I was being charged to the day usage for some of that night usage. Took me to spot it and a bunch of emails and tweets to make progress.

My API is wrong 2 and can’t get to the bottom of it

Also check what your economy 7 hours are. I asked Octopus and got the wrong answer. Told them to think again. I'm in SE England and our 7 hours are....22.30 to 00.30, then 02.30 to 07.30. So not a continuous 7 hours. Start the tumble drier say at 01.45 and you pay peak rate. And, in BST, add one hour to the above times.

they have told me it is 00.30 to 7.30 but i wont be at all surprised if they are wrong. (south west)

When I lived in Taunton ( sweb) it was midnight to 07.00 then plus one hour fir BST.
Each area is different. Mine is a nuisance. But Octopus should know.
