Can I get the Economy 7 times/prices into the app, or on the dashboard? I've just changed over to this. Should I get a new API from Octopus?

I so say changed to eco 7 - 8 weeks ago, the information supplied by the API does not match the tariff.
The bills do not match with the smart meter data either.
I generated a new API key but that changed nothing.
You need to speak to octopus and i hope you have more luck than I am having with them.
When I switched to Economy 7 it took some time for Octopus to get it right. When you get the message saying it has been activated DOUBLE CHECK before you start using it everyday for off peak charging. Firstly, check that they have activated both the peak and off peak meters on your smart meter. Take readings from both. Then do a small charge or use a heavy load appliance off peak and check that it has registered on the off peak meter. I received an email from them saying it had been activated, but they had missed out something and it wasn't registering off-peak, just adding it onto the peak meter. If there is an issue a phone call just after they open at 9.00am usually has quite a short wait time. If you don't get the answer you want from one customer services rep - ring again until you get someone who will fix it there and then. I got a great lady on my second call who did all the behind the scenes ringing and contacting with the metering department - took about 30mins but it was fixed while I was on the phone.
Secondly, confirm your ECO 7 hours. They vary across the country according to who is your DNO. I'm in Hampshire so my hours are 00.30 to 7.30am, but they can be as early as 11.30 to 6.30 - so getting it wrong can result in inadvertent peak time charging. Unfortunately I can't help you with the API cos I don't use it -I just took lots of manual readings and used a calculator a lot for the first month and the bill seemed to be in the right ball park.
I'm still in discussions with Octopus about my Eco 7 hours. Living in the SE England, my hours are split starting 22:30 to 00:30, then back to regular tariff then 02:30 to 07:30. But at BST these hours are plus one hour. So, eco 7 finishes at 08:30. So far Octopus have yet to put into writing these hours. But, I'm fairly certain these used to be the Eco 7 hours for my DNO.
As I don't use any automations I just set my off peak charge to start at 03:00 and finish at 07:28, but I will have to remember to change come BST.
I have my export as Octopus Outgoing Fixed, as I'm yet to work out/trust Octopus and Giveenergy and any APIs to automate for me.
Just got a bill. Most of the first week, since the changeover, seems to have been charged at the day rate. Looks ok from today. Thanks for the times. I've already got it wrong. Mine seems to be 0030 to 0730.
Roberto Do you have a dishwasher or tumble drier? Do you know how long a cycle is, and roughly how many units of power it uses? Why not set it up with a manual timer (if you don't have this home assistant thingy) Take some meter readings and then run it at different times (early off peak and then the gap in the middle) and see what it does to your meter readings. After a few goes you should be able to tie down your actual hours. Or just stay up tonight with a few beers and boil the kettle a few times before , during and after your early off peak period!

Your smart meter sends consumption data every 30 minutes to the DCC cloud. Any energy supplier can read the 30 minute values and sum them to get you the right bill, whether your meter is multi tariff or not. We have an old SMETS1 meter which sends the data to DCC every 30 minutes. I asked EDF for a SMETS2 meter with dual rate registers but they said I didn't need it as they would just take the 30 minute readings and sum them for off-peak and standard. I download the 30 minute values and sum (peak/off-peak) them myself so I can monitor what my bill should look like.
Karen I'm fairly certain I know my eco 7 hours. I just wanted Ocopus to confirm in writing via email. Traditionally SE England had this odd split eco 7 hours thing. I'm expecting my first bill shortly to confirm my thoughts on eco 7 hours. According to my smart meter readings I have used only 5 peak rate units since my installation. These would have been used when the battery did its first and only so far, discharge/recharge calibration.

indeed my meter does record half hour usage and octopus have all that info yet despite this they have billed me with no off peak usage.
My tariff "card" on octopus site shows dual rate eco 7 but the bills do not add up. I have sent them a spreadsheet showing the meter readings and the expected charges and they agree it is wrong but as I am sick of hearing "we need to pass this to a metering specialist" and i never hear any more.

Octopus use dual-register metering for Eco7, and ignore the half-hour smart meter readings. And it seems to take them several attempts to set up up the dual registers correctly - with me they (remotely) set up the day and night registers on my SMETS2 meter, but left all the kWh going onto the day register. It took several phone calls before they and their "meter specialists" got everything set up correctly.
From Octopus's perspective, I can see why they use a dual register system (with SMETS2 meters pretending to be old-style dual register meters) until everyone has a SMETS2 meter, else they would have to have two different billing systems, one for customers with old 'mechanical' dual register meters and a second for customers with (working) SMETS2 meters. There seems to be a surprisingly large number of SMETS2 meters that don't / can't send data to the DCC.

The whole point of SMETS2 was to require the meters to work over 3G/4G, or any other comms solution the energy supplier had to put in, to send the data to the DCC. Prior to SMETS2, each energy supplier could choose where the data was sent to hence the debacle and confusion and "smart" meters becoming dumb sometimes when the energy supplier changed. All SMETS2 meters send all the summarised data (monthly, weekly, daily, hourly and 30 minutes) to DCC where any energy supplier can pick up that data if you are their customer.
When you change supplier, part of the change is for them to write your tariff details (including time of use periods) to your smart meter (SMETS1 and SMETS2) and to record the same details against your DCC records. They may choose to ignore all those DCC data values and simply pick up the meter readings from the monthly summary at the end of the month or whatever billing period you use. However, I can see that just because the new tariff and time periods have been set in the DCC database, that doesn't mean that the meter in the home has been correctly updated to reflect this and a number of attempts may be necessary to update the internal registers in the smart meter.
Our time of use tariff and period data is stored in DCC and can be read by our Bright app but our SMETS1 meter either does not have ToU registers, or doesn't support the "DCC to smart meter" communications protocol, or maybe I just need to ask my energy supplier to try again to update the registers.
