Hi there, on the portal i seem to be able to only set one time block where the unit charges from the grid. is there a way to set multiple (2) charge periods?
setting more than one charge time
Doggl3s not in the portal or the app... I wrote a few lines of Python to do this, it should also be possible to schedule a second charge using Home Assistant.
Thanks, I've not used home assistant, is it relatively straightforward to set it through there
Doggl3s my personal view is that it's overcomplicated if you only want to send three commands to the GivEnergy API twice a day. Do you have any experience with Linux?
Hi, no none atall. I can probably figure it out though

Beware that this may be a stupid question...how do you run python on windows? PowerShell or a python app?
positor1 You install it from here: https://www.python.org/downloads/windows/

stevelewis
thank you.
what scripts have you written that we can play with? and where to download?
GE support did reply to me that "We are looking to add another timed charge slot on the inverter settings. This is currently in the pipeline and this will be out soon". I'd also like this option as dual charge windows could become more common.
positor1 www.github.com/salewis38/palm. The file palm_soc.py sets both the overnight charge depending on the Solcast forecast and an afternoon charge. System details need to be placed in settings.py

"..out soon" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence....
GE's solar water diverter, solar forecasting automation, EV chargers, firmware fixes, etc etc were all due to be "out soon" too.
LordHippos I would be ( sort of) intrested in 2 slots to charge my battery on eco 7, as my DNO ( UK Power Networks) splits my Eco 7 hours. Although the second ( 5 hour) slot is plenty to fill my battery.
