So doing my usual check to see if this new EMS is listed I noticed the All in One due in March. Can't wait to see pricing on this one. Shame this wasn't GE's opening product. Ticks all my boxes.

Yeah that looks the business, depending on price that would have done everything I wanted too.... with the exception that the warranty is 5 years.

Ra Completely agree. Releasing stuff as "coming soon" when orders for gen 2 are still outstanding nearly 10 months later is a bit rich. Anyone who knows the recent history isn't going to order irrespective of how good the spec appears, at least without firm commitment. Maybe GE would like to comment on the real availability? Surely they aren't willing to risk another supply debacle like 2022?
I wouldn't be suprised if these all in ones appear before a decent stock of gen 2 inverters. Made in different factories etc etc. Focusing on the AC coupled side rather than solar inverters, I am not even sure GE's inverters (solar side) are that good vs other longer established brands? But yeah, releasing a new product line before fixing stock and other issues does leave a bad taste in my mouth. I need this EMS unit to appear to get my second AC3 to finish my system..... Though I might just get the second AC3 as some peoples work fine as a plant.
Given this lot's utter contempt of their customers allied with a poor record in delivery, I reckon that you would have to be a brave individual to shell out full price for the first of these, assuming that you could even lay your hands on one.
The paper specs look good and if it is priced under £12K installed then it could be a winner. But I personally wouldn't trust GE or their promises at this stage. And I am speaking as someone whose kit is working pretty much as described (bar the two batteries being out-of-synch and charging stopping when one battery hits 100% leaving the other at 80%).
If that came before a gen2, I’d take it…

Potentially more interested in the gateway, but tbh I would prefer if they’d concentrate on getting items currently on the docket finished and out before suggesting new stuff;
Gen 2 inverters (hybrid and AC) easily available
EMS for dual systems
EV charger
PV Water diverter
To name a few..
Tbh if this comes from a different factory and integrates all the bits required, then I’d just dump the problematic manufacturer and continue to offer updates.
A trade in program at a good discount would be essential though.
kram I have mentioned a "trade in" program before when there was talk of an AC5 coming. But sadly there is no such program :-(
chris_p Yes, this would definitely suck if it went wrong right after the warranty expired. I guess there are benefits to having separate units. Overall the product looks perfect for a seamless solar experience.

And am I reading correctly that the unit includes the 'Whole house backup' which means that in the single package it includes the eqivalent of the Tesla gateweay. That would make it a very attractive option.
Given current performance of GivEnergy, you'd be a brave person to opt for the first of these, I would think.
IanMac Agreed that there is a risk of anything failing the day after its warranty expires. But I wonder what we should understand from looking at the General Data where the weight is given as '150Kg (5 x 30Kg parts)'?
Could it be somehow modular within the neat housing so that seperate '30Kg parts' could be replaced if they fail?
GrahamShaul I had fooled myself! The Giv-Gateway is a seperate purchase.
The new All In One has already got a makeover, batch 1 has been improved to be 0.5m smaller in footprint.
So the one you see pictures of, is now smaller. Usually the same with prototypes, the real finished product looks different. Same with the EV charger, the actual one is very different to the early beta tested prototypes

I’d like to hear more information regarding the gateway as I’ve heard various versions from different people including:
In all cases, for AC systems it allows solar PV to continue to work to recharge batteries and supplement power (i.e like Tesla).
Whilst I would love #3 to be true I have a sinking feeling it’s #1.😩. But will have to wait and see what the official line is…

The Gateway we have, (I have on in the lab now) if for AIO
Saddened to hear that the gateway is for the AIO only, but not unexpected. The problem is that all the hundreds or thousands of existing customers can't get a gateway without stumping for the AIO which is for 95% of them never going to happen.
Yes, my Gen 2 5.0 and 9.5 (literally nailed to the wall about an hour ago) might only be able to send 3.6 to the house, but in my instance that is fine 99.8% of the time. I'd love to see the gateway be able to be retrofitted into my install and just disable itself and cut us off if the load got too high. I'm far more rural than most so we get nuisance cuts more often.

TheDragon (GivEnergy) that’s sad to hear. One would think if GE were trying to emulate the Tesla gateway which can handle multiple PW, it should be able to.
Main interest I would have in it would be keeping the panels working with AC inverters. This would make up for the lower battery discharge dictated by only using a single inverter EPS.

Given that a Tesla Powerwall is, what, £12/13k and you can buy the 5kw Libbi with 10kw Battery around £8500 (thats exc fitting).
I can bet the price will be north of £9k and shy of £13k
The Libbi is not comparable to either the Tesla PW or the AIO. it doesn't offer a gateway or house backup for a start.

Apologies for my ignorance, but what is the "gateway" being spoken of, and what does it allow you to do?
The gateway allows the battery to power the house without backfeeding into the grid. In essence it is a UPS for the house which also "islands" the house from the grid in the event of a power cut.
