Adding a non GivEnergy EV car charger?

Has anyone been able to add an EV car charger to the GivEnergy app?

ROBERTSON_GL53_8QH I don’t think so. I will admit though it would be good though that even if you couldn’t control it, you could “add it” so you could at least see where the energy is flowing.. (like adding GE batteries to the myenergi app, can’t control them but can see the flows)

ROBERTSON_GL53_8QH I've seen this asked before and I don't believe it's possible unfortunately. I'm using the MyEnergi app to monitor a Zappi. It would be handy though.

the MyEnergy app appears to update sooner than the 5 minutes of the GE app when not on the local network; so I tend to use that though of course battery SOC is not available.

Right now, no you can't.
Longer version - maybe in the future but not just 1 click on an app.
Givenergy have stated that unless the EV charger manufacturer has an open & documented API they will not be wasting resource reverse engineering.

However...
The Givenergy API has something called "Smart Devices" which in essence is for the use of Givenergy Smart Plugs to push data to the portal (your Power graphs)
This API is not just for Smart Plugs though, you can just create a new device of your choosing and "push" data to it via this API and it will (eventually, when they get it running correctly) get added to your portal & app graphs.
(Note: I've been pushing EV charge power data to it from an Ohme & an Indra EV charger for over a year)

It's not there yet as the graphs don't work but that is probably as good as you will likely get without charger manufacturers being a bit more open about their own software.

hoggy Hey hoggy i'd be interested to hear how you're pushing data from an Ohme charger as I don't have one to play with. Are you using a but of kit to receive the data then push it up to the API?

by reverse engineering the Ohme API. Pull the data & push to Givenergy.
Do the same with my Indra charger.

Beware Ohme don't like it, I get away with it in a "hmmm that's interesting / didn't know you could do that" kind of way but was warned off from releasing it. (I got an email about a week after from their head guy asking what I was doing so they can tell / do check)
