Local Search Failed

My Givenergy app (ios) says local search failed
Must be on same network- I am but it doesn’t work.
I cant use the manu search as I cant find the IP address if the inverter.
Please help.

FWIW, my app has been pretty flaky recently on Android. I have had to retry it several times quite often. I set my router to make the DHCP lease for the inverter WiFi dongle retain it's IP address and put it in manually. I'm not sure if it's the same on iOS - but in settings there is an option to 'scan for inverter' and that told me the IP address after finding it. FWIW, my inverter presents itself as 'HF-A21' in the list of DHCP leases on my router.

GarethRhys If you don't have access to the wifi leases list on your router download a tool like Fing from your mobile device app store. This will allow you to scan your network and identifiy all the devices connected (they have to be on the same subnet as your wifi connection). Look for something like 'HF-A21' and you can see the ip address of your dongle. Note that if you ever get into adding smart home devices to your house apps like Fing are a lifesaver.

I've had this on Android, the inverters are on their own network so for example my phone is on 192.168.0.0/24 and the inverters are on 192.168.1.0/24 so I've manually specified the IPs which may change this behaviour. What I've found works fairly reliably is, open the app, wait for the 'home' mode to time out, leave the app open, turn wifi off on the phone, wait for it to disconnect then turn the wifi back on.

It's almost like the app is looking for the wifi toggle as apposed to looking at the actual state when it loads
