Battery not powering the house!

Our battery is saying 100% charge but the house has been getting power from the grid all evening.
How can we rectify this?

You don't say how much grid is coming in or if the battery is actually discharging anything. You should maybe post an image of your flows graph so we can see a bit more detail.

Make sure it is on Eco setting and you do NOT have a timed discharge set.

If ECO only does not do it for you then you should try resetting to defaults then setting ECO - sometimes hidden settings get in the eay of ECO.

What is your battery size
What is your home usage
Do you have solar, is so what size and is it facing south

Battery size is 9.5kW
Home usage around 3kW
Solar is south facing 4kW

We just shifted to an Economy 7 tarrif and I set the battery to charge overnight from last night, but the sun fully charged it during the day yesterday. The reason I know that the battery is not feeding the house is because I had the oven onlast night and the battery did not discharge any of its power

Go to your portal.

Click on the top right of the 'My Inverter' Panel (an expansion icon will appear.

This will open the My Inverter panel in the main area and you can access your settings.

Click on settings
Click on Reset to defaults
Click on Eco and enable it

This will use solar to power the house with any excess going to the battery. If the house load is higher than the solar generation it will discharge from the battery to meet the extra demand. If no solar is generating the battery will discharge to meet demand up to the size of your inverter and take from the grid if it needs more or the battery is exhausted.

If you want to charge the battery from grid at a specific time (e.g. Economy 7 or a smart tariff) click on Timed Charge and set the period. This will charge the battery from grid ONLY during the period you set and revert to ECO outside of these times.

Just for clarity - the battery will not supply the house during any charging period you have set.

So I have the same issue as reported here
Battery is 9.2 kHz and is at 83% charged
The physical battery has the status light illuminated Red
I’ve checked all settings and nothing looks untoward

Any pointers would be appreciated

You could try the usual "turn it off and back on again" routine, but a red light on the battery indicates a fault, maybe time to call Ge?

I know how to reset the inverter but not the battery

bosulliv Turn it off and back on again! Wait a couple of minutes between off and on. If theree's residual power on the BMS board it won't reset. It needs to die...

bosulliv the battery has a power button on the right hand side. Hold it in for a few seconds and it should beep and then turn off. After a couple of minutes press it again to restart it.

That's not strictly true. If you have set timed charge to say, 50% - then you get some power to the battery from your PV array, then when solar isn't enough to power your house, it will discharge your battery back down to the 50% level within the charging period.

So it's really

'The battery will not power the house if there is a currently active charging period and the current SOC is at or below the set AC charge level'
