Givenergy batteries with a 3rd party inverter

Is anyone running Givenergy batteries with a non Givenergy inverter?

I suppose the smarter question would have been, is it possible to run a Givenergy battery with a 3rd party inverter?

I have a 7kWp EW setup through a 6kW non-Givenergy inverter, Give-AC3.0 battery controller and a Givenergy 5.2kWh battery. No issues, other than the battery is too small so adding a 9.5 and a couple of extra panels to the East string thanks to the VAT benefit.

Officially no, as it has to talk to their inverter (and I’m sure there’s something in the warranty words that say using it with any other inverter voids it)
It is ultimately a big box of cells, I’m not entirely sure how smart the BMS really is (the whole SOC thing does not inspire) as to whether you can force anything to / from the battery with the BMS cable unplugged. Given some people on the group have experienced odd temperature readouts yet a (somewhat) working system when the BMS plug has been disturbed you could infer that you can push and pull power from them with a non GE inverter attached but would it really be worth it given the lack of warranty or potential complications?

You can however go AC coupled with any other PV inverter (mentioned above)

Hook We have just been commissioned with a Huawei inverter and 3 x 9.5kw batteries each with AC3 on three-phase. Should I be concerned that you are even asking this question? The system specification was defined by my supplier and installer.

Dougal I think the original question was maybe for GE batteries with a non GE AC or hybrid inverter. You have a GE DC inverter.

It was just a general question, with regards to what can control the GE batteries. I have a GE hybrid inverter and GE 9.5kwh battery in my garage ready to install in a couple of weeks.
