Eco mode plus charge time

Hi folks,

I’m with octopus where 23:00-5:00 is on 10p/kwh
I have 4kw pv with iq7 micro inverter and 9.6kwh battery

On my inverter I have eco mode set to enabled, charge time 23:30-5:00, and discharge time 06:00-23:00.

What I notice, the inverter didn’t charge the battery when there surplus from PV, but it exports to the grid (which I want to avoid) - small amount circa 500 watts

After reading some of the discussion, if it was set to ECO, it’ll avoid exporting to the grid. But it didn’t do it. Is it because of timed charge?

If I change the timed charge to throughout the day, I am scared that inverter will charge the battery during the daytime (which is on normal octopus rate of 44p/kwh)

Question is, how to I tell the inverter to charge the battery using the excess from solar during the day time, rather than export the excess PV or charge the battery using the grid during the day.

Any pointer is much appreciated

Additional question, my PV averaging 1.7 kwh per day. It’s been a week since I have it. Is it normal production rate for such system in January time?

jazzalude Turn your Discharge Period off. Eco and Charge Period is all you need. Discharge time forces a discharge and the inverter cannot charge and discharge at the same time even if there's excess solar.

To ensure this works start from scratch:

Reset to defaults
Set ECO
Set Charge period

I'd only add, take your time and make sure that you get a positive acknowledgement at each step.

Also, best to make changes on the portal - the App can be a bit flaky.
