Data outages

My system says offline, last updated four hours ago. No error messages outside and the dongle appears to be connected to the wifi. Wifi router has been rebooted but no difference. Is there a way of reporting data outages because there’s nothing showing under ‘known issues’ at the moment.

Had a similar situation.
After a few months of flawless working inverter started saying "Offline" and had dat a gaps.
Spoke to GE and was told it was my WiFi coverage,
I was sceptical as there had been no changes to my Router/WiFi setup but since I had a spare additional router ended up installing that as an AP/Bridge as close are possible to the Inverter.
Since then no more "offline" reports.
So I would recommend adding another Access Point/Bridge to your WiFi setup.

I’ve taken the dongle off to try to reconnect it as per the guide online - the bloody thing’s full of water, no wonder it’s not working!! I will be on to my installer first thing tomorrow to get a replacement, and for them to figure out a way to better protect it from the elements.

MikeC217 Sorry to hear about that. Your experience confirms what I have suspected for a whille- that the dongles really aren't sealed well enought to prevent moisture and water ingress.

If you drain the water out, and leave it on a radiator for a day, it may have survived - but I think the chances are low.

ToothyChris I doubt it, when I went out to look at it last night I could hear a sort of hissing coming from it which now makes total sense! Should have pulled it out then…

Might be time to build a shelter around the kit, or improve it if you've already got one!

MikeC217 Having the same issue here, a few days ago I lost about 14hrs of data for the day and I was convinced that I was seeing live data on the portal and within the app at the time... but couldn't be sure.

Today... I got some screenshots of it happening in real time.

Live data on the portal showing completely different to recorded/historical data... some 90-120 mins later.

It's not wifi, my inverter shows as online, the portal shows it receiving data from the inverter for the entire time... but the data being displayed in the graphs that are used to see historical data... just seems to vanish.

To simply blame users wifi... is a cop out to avoid looking into the issue... it's effectively gaslighting the consumer so that GE don't have to lift a finger to work out why and use any resources to fix it.

As for the water... mine is located in the garage and we've not had any rain for the last 8 days... and temps have been very mild for this time of year... in the 8-10ºC range... and the battery reports it's temps in the 9ºC range... so it's not condensation either.

MikeC217 You may also want to ask your installer to open the inverter, to make sure the water hasn't drained from there into the dongle.
