Since install of panels inverter and batteries, the installer came round after 4 hours to tell me that the inverter is not functioning right.
The battery seems to discharge to the grid, For 3 days now the battery has discharged every evening.
Is this normal for the battery being calibrated?

neil_hartup the battery should calibrate one, by fully discharging and then full charging.

Have you checked the settings? In the portal, go to Inverter > Settings > reset to defaults. Then set on Eco mode and if you need one, set a timed charge too.

Thanks,
I have added for the battery to operate at a set time this evening.
I'm not getting much assistance from the installer, in respect of how the system works, especially on the app.
This information would help me get to know whats going on.
Grateful for the response.

neil_hartup Not quite sure what you mean by 'battery to operate at a set time this evening' but, just in case DO NOT use the timed discharge function unless you want to empty the battery as fast as possible. Contrary to logic this option does not allow you to tell the inverter the times you want the battery to respond to load. It simply discharges the battery at full whack until empty or the period ends. Any excess discharge over load (house) will be exported. As Cdent says:

Reset to Defaults
Enable ECO
Set timed charge period if you have a cheap period tariff such as E7 or a smart tariff such as Go.

This is the normal mode of operation everyone recommends whilst you get to know the system and maybe want to do some tinkering automation later. And even then, if your tinkering messes up always revert to the above three things.

ECO is the prime mover here. ECO will minimise import from the grid by using Solar to satisfy house load, suplemented by battery discharge is solar is not enough. If there is more solar generation than load it will charge the battery with the excess. It will only export solar if generation exceeds load and the battery is full. It will only import from grid if load exceeds the combined generation and battery discharge or exceeds generation when the battery is empty.

Done, many thanks.
