Charge up to limit not working

I’m having an issue where I’ve set the “charge up to” value to 50% but over the two nights I’ve tried it it’s ignored it and charged to 100%
Any ideas? Thanks

MattT I have the same issue, was told it's a firmware problem by GE Tech Support. They're looking into it... apparently.

Same here. My batteries were installed in June 2022 and the problem started about a week ago. Firmware 3007.

MattT On the Portal, try going into My Inverter -> Remote Control (the gear cog). Then refresh the Enable AC Charge Upper % Limit. I had your issue and when I refreshed this register it changed from On to Off! I reset it back on and it started to work as expected.

Out of interest, are you using GivTCP? If you are, turn off SmartTarget. If not set, it will keep the target at 100% regardless.

TheDragon (GivEnergy) thanks. that's interesting, I am using GivTCP and didn't realise that was a thing. I've turned it off and reset my charge to %age, will see how it goes tonight.

Is that feature not supposed to correct for the solar prediction of the next day?
I gather it’s not accurate between October and march but are you saying it should be turned off during this time?

I was on the understanding that smart charge didn't work between October & March looking at the code, but I guess that wasn't right.

TheDragon (GivEnergy) Thanks for the tip! I don't use SmartTarget but it just shows that if you want to do DIY local control, you really do need to understand what you're doing (and I don't). I am using GivTCP and HA/Node-RED to calculate the charge power (%) to reach the Charge to % at the end of the charge period. This is working fine for me as I'm not relying on the inverter stopping the charge at the right time, but if I was, I might be getting frustrated with it not working!

Cdent AFAIK, it's not that it doesn't work between those months, it's that it sets the target to 100% regardless of the forecast.
