Battery charge and discharge

Hi,
I've just had a new inverter replacement.
There may have been a fault with the original one due to a malfunction.
Now as I see that the solar that charges my battery (5.3kw) is charged on a clear day in a couple of hours. Noticed that when its discharging after dark that it dumps all off 2600w to the house and the grid.
In the settings on the app, it gives you options to lower the charge and supply rate. Am I to believe that lowering tge discharge rate that that's the maximum it delivers and will be for longer?

If you have a split tariff set a timed charg eperiod for you off peak time

This will stop any export to grid and charge the battery from solar and discharge when needed. ECO is designed to minimise import from Grid.

At the moment, I am waiting for a smart meter. 23rd Feb. So want to minimise the grid feed.

neil_hartup I need to clarify one thing. ECO will allow export to grid but only for excess solar over load and charging. If you really want to stop or minimise export under these circumstancs then use the excess in some way - put the immersion on, do a wash, vacuum, etc. Otherwise the energy must go somewhere and just because you can't use it aren't getting paid for it doesn't mean you should simply waste it by not exporting it.

I have a 700W connvecter heater. On sunny but cold days after the battery is full and the water has heated I plug that in to use the extra electricity to warm my lounge. You do need to keep an eye on it though because as the day progresses and the sun goes lower you get less power and can end up pulling from the battery. At the moment I can keep it running until about 4pm on sunny days.

I would love some - but do't even know where to start - don't have Google Home Assistant - I think Raspberry pi is a form of dessert and the last time I looked the programming language was Fortra!!!

Yes that's something to do and I'm studying my output carefully.
The situation like today (Saturday) the clouds are here, battery charge is on 36% after 7 hours. I'm south facing and not a lot of current being used in the house.
