Good day folks? Is there a simple way to set up two times charged events via the app? At the moment I'm having to change manually during the day to start a charge in the afternoon and then one overnight for the batteries. I'd like a set and forget option to charge rhe battery for a bit prior to the more expensive rates kicking in at 4pm on Octopus Agile. Is the only way to tinker with Octopus R&D as I can't seem to do it simply at the inverter.

Many thanks for any advice, much appreciated.

No.

lukesarge Octopus R&D Smart Energy can schedule as many as you like. You can also set it to repeat as well so it can be set and forget.

Martyn great, thanks.

Anyone knows how to link Giv to Octopus R&D - there is no obvious menu...

Pieszy Need to add a device 1st, with GivEnergy API

I have however found it unreliable recently.
Set a charge if time slot cost under 25p, it skips it.
The overnight charge at the 10 cheapest slots is working ok.

As is a vanilla charge start and stop

I think something is wrong with my account... There is absolutely nowhere to add device...

Not sure if octopus maintains r&d any more

It’s maintained. It takes a few days for all the tools to be enabled to allow you to add your inverter. (I think it’s all done by a human at the other end still)

Its down tonight though. Cant see inverter, cant see schedules, cant see graphs.

Everything throws an error

I created my account on OctopusR&D yesterday https://smart-energy.octopushome.net and added my Octopus Agile account number and API. I also requested to have my account changed to enable Smart configuration of the GE Inverter. I can see the graphs, I can read the overview pages, but I don't seem able to add the inverter/configure anything yet. I did spot a different e-mail address for support agile@octopus.energy which I wrote to yesterday evening for assistance - still waiting to hear back.....

Which portal are you unable add the inverter to? Presumably Octo R&D
Have you gone to the devices tab on the LHS and added your things

William-Martin I had a pretty much blank portal first and then a couple of days later the ability to add devices appeared.

I too would like to do multiple timed charged events but am starting at the bottom of the learning curve for how to use GivEnergy API and use Octopus R&D, linking them together. I am no programmer but a quick learner. I just need a primer to get going. Is there one yet?

If you want to go the HomeAssistant route, there's speak to the geek (YouTube) who has done a few videos.
