Quick question if you use the timed (Economy 7) battery charge overnight does the system run in the eco mode as normal for the rest of the time - i.e to minimise grid import. I need to top up my batteries at this time of year as this is not enough sun.
DavidMoore1 Yes. If ECO is enabled with Timed Charge the systme will revert to ECO after the charge period ends.
And to maximise your use of the night rate electricity, many people set their charging window to match the full night rate time window (e.g. 00:35 to 07:25). That way, if you set it to charge to 70%, it will be at 70% when you wake up (rather than being at c.60%, having discharged to the house for several hours).
