Most of the time when looking at the generation, consumption, battery usage the numbers never add up. Example below.
On top of that, the battery always offloads more power than is needed (according to the data), apparently shipping some off to the grid, despite the battery not being fully charged.
Its fine at low numbers but when you get to large generation/usage the difference is significant, 100s of watts.
Any thoughts?
There is a 'cost' in chargng the battery and then inverting the DC battery to AC to load. On top of that CT clamps are not 100% accurate, especially if they are not installed exactly right or are in a busy electrical area with lots of stray flux. When inverting battery to AC the inverter may also invert to a margin so that it is able to cope with minor flunctuations in demand without delay.
Do you have the calculated option enabled on the app?
that's turned off at the moment - I don't know what that does
Smk82 What does this option do? I've tried it turned on and off in the app, but couldn't see any difference in what the app is displaying.
From what I understand it makes the numbers add up. There is a conversion loss when moving energy from the dc battery to AC house. So when looking at the app without the calculated load turned on the battery will be putting out more energy than required to allow for this conversion. (It’s raw data) If calculated load is turned on it takes this into account with what’s being displayed (hence the numbers add up)
interesting, it definitely "often" makes the numbers add up, not always though. Does that setting affect the power line charts too or just the dashboard?

Thanks - actually it does always makes the numbers add up on the dashboard - my maths was bad. Be interested if anyone else knows if the setting also works on the power line charts
