We had our GivEnergy battery & inverter fitted last week and I’d like some advice, please? I want the battery to re-charge during the off peak times during the night and have gone into the ‘settings’ area and set the ‘timed charge’ to start at 00:30 and end at 04:30. Is this correct and will it, therefore, charge every night during these times?

TUTTLE_GL7_1XL Yes. Leave ECO on, then set timed charge as you have done and then a battery percentage of your choice. I move the slider as the weather improves.

Yes, :
What tariff are you on, if Eco7, that runs until 07:30 so put 00:30 to 07:30 and if the battery is full earlier it will make sure it is still fully charged by Eco 7 when the higher rate kicks in.
Leave Eco enabled so it manages everything during the day
Go to the Battery Options settings to make sure you are charging to whatever % you want and at what rate in w.

I can just about do 24hrs on one off peak full charge

Or if you are on Octopus use their R&D page

Yes those are the Octopus GO times.

Ah Ok. I am on Octo Eco7, but looking to move to Octo Flux

Well last night my battery did not charge.
I am set in Octo Labs for night charge and in GivEnergy for ECO.

Are the two fighting each other?

The Octo Labs page says scheduler will disable ECO mode, so I don't know what happened last night, but I now have an empty battery!

Probably the GE server outage?

SteveCook The Giv Energy servers went down last night so if your charge start time was while the servers were down it would not have started.

I had several half hour slots to charge and some of them didn't work and I am assuming this was the same issue. Luckily, sky is reasonably bright this morning so battery is slowly charging from solar which I wasn't expecting based on the weather forecast for today.

I would try to do the same again tonight and hopefully it works.

Thanks
My charge times should be coming from Octo R&D.
Does that mean Octo R&D tells GE servers what to do, and then GE servers tell my inverter?

Does the GE inverter hold the portal settings locally such that if the GE servers are down, the inverter can run autonomously with the last settings it has?
