Frustration with the app settings

Frustration! I'm a new solar owner and we have had a lovely sunny day.

I am not yet set up with an export tariff. I set the app to export from the battery to 'home use' from about 16:00 tonight. I went to check the app to see how the status of the battery was and to my surprise it was at 27%. I then looked at the graph and could see that the system decided to rinse all the power from my battery to the grid as fast as it could!

Whilst I understand excess power needs to be released to the grid, is there any way to set the battery to hold on to it's power until I need it, the obvious settings don't appear to do what I expect? The control and wording the the app and inverter settings are baffling and the automation does not seem to account for someone waiting to get the export tariff set up.

I have tried several options but none of them seem to make any sense. I simply want to charge up the battery and set it to discharge to the home only!

Setting the timed export will export to grid. You don’t need to set anything other than eco mode to export to the house.

My settings are eco mode on. Timed charge between 00.30-7.30 to 90%.

Doing this my battery powers my home all day unless solar, will also recharge with solar if available. Only exports excess solar to grid if battery is at 100%

So setting it to scheduled and 'home demand' doesn't mean 'home demand', maybe this setting should be renamed or removed because it's really badly named.

I would expect a scheduled export that is sent to home demand would only send battery power for the house. Hence my frustration.

There’s another thread that says that basically doesn’t work as expected. I’d set it back to “default” then let it run and see how you go. Eco mode should basically take care unless you want to force charge or force discharge in a timed way

I’m not actually familiar with the setting you set but m confident the way I have it is what you want (you don’t need the timed overnight charge if you don’t want that, I only do it as it’s cheaper electricity)

Just leave it in Eco mode.

Mine went live last Friday and today in South Brum, pulled in 15.5KwH which fully charged my battery and is currently running the house.

Why oh why are installers not explaining the basics of the system to new owners?

@CraigSolar your battery will have calibrated itself straight after commissioning - fully charging and discharging at least once. Your installer should have explained this to you.

Once the calibration process is complete, ensure Eco mode is enabled. If you have a cheap overnight tariff, then you'll also want to enable "Timed Charge".

The Export to Home Demand, is being fixed, it will get incorporated into the new firmware (Currently beta)

Forgive me, but where exactly does this "export to home demand" command actually appear?
