Hiya, anybody got any ideas why ,y ac3 would just start to discharge to the grid. its worked fine since November. Tried to reset to defaults and it does remove by timings but still is discharging. even tried a restart
AC3 discharge
It might be a random calibration cycle - which has happened to a few users. You should be able to limit the discharge rate, so that more of the stored energy gets used by your house.
Thanks yes done that hope it sorts it self out
If it empties and then starts charging up again, I think you can be certain it is an unplanned calibration.

If you give GivEnergy a call, they will be able to see if it was a calibration. Which shouldn't happen spontaneously
L174945 If it's a calibration, there should be a notification in your web portal.
Tim I'm curious Tim, does the notification appear even if it is an unplanned/spontaneous calibration?
ToothyChris No idea! It would be good if it did though wouldn't it? Although my preference would be for an email to be triggered.
Tim Agree. Although GE seems curiously against the whole idea of communicating with their 'customer' base, even though they hold e-mail addresses for all of us.
Perhaps their thinking is: If we don't e-mail the customers, we won't get a gazillion e-mails coming back, from people who are confused.
ToothyChris I 'think' it does. I got a notification 4 months ago saying "Battery calibration finished on CExxxxxxx. Thanks for waiting while your inverter calibrated its batteries. Your inverter will now function as normal'"
Trouble is the message is undated (!) so I can't really check what caused it.
- (!!!)
SilverArt I got that too. There was a message somewhere saying that their database hadn't recorded battery calibration completion on older installs (ours was 13 months ago) and so to "tidy up" their database, they switched the flag for all those old calibrations triggering the very late messages.
