What is the Power Diverter?

Is this a similar device to the MyEnergy eddi? I.e. you can use this to heat your hot water/power your emersion heater?

Yes.

It was first mentioned about a year ago, maybe 18 months. Not sure if it would be as good as the Eddi which can divert even just 20w of power if it's spare. Many diverters just turn on or off rather than varying the load based on the current export.

We installed 2 Eddis at the farm in September and are very happy with them. If the Giv version ever actually comes out and is similar to the Eddi, I might get one.

dbt85 I invested (maybe poorly) in the Solar iBoost for the same, but it appears to need a pretty high threshold before it cuts in (300w), otherwise it constantly drains the battery or runs at night.
