I've got a GivEnergy AC 3.0 System with two 9.5 Gen 2 Battery's installed outside.
Late last night / early this morning the system went offline, confirmed in portal and app.
All lights were on the AC 3.0 and batterys.
No light on the WiFi dongle.
Removing the little rectangle rubber bung from the bottom of the dongle was met with water coming out.
The system has now since been powered down.
I was under the understanding that the GivEngery systems are indeed outdoor rated with an IP65 rating.
This being;
6) Full protection against dust and other particulates, including a vacuum seal, tested against continuous airflow.
5) Protection against low-pressure jets (6.3 mm) of directed water from any angle (limited ingress permitted with no harmful effects).
Well clearly my system is not / was not IP65 rated for whatever reason.
Any thoughts?

Someone else has had this, can’t remember what the resolution was beyond boxing it in.
Does it have a hood over it?
How it gets in I can only assume it runs down the front of the inverter and underneath to the dongle port. I don’t think it has a seal on it but honestly can’t remember.
I think the bung just traps it, they would have been better with a small drain hole as a last ditch fix.

I think the install document suggests installing it somewhere it will not get directly rained on. I vaguely recall seeing a document suggesting it. A sheltered outdoor location.
THALL Correct, some basic protection is in the manual. If not install IAW the manual, warranty will most likely be void, and Installer is held accountable

I seem to remember that someone else had water ingress into the inverter itself, which then simply drained through the USB plug/socket, and into the dongle.

@ToothyChris At first thoughts I didn't think the issue was with the invertor, but after you saying that you had seen others with water ingress into the inverter itself. I also searched this and other forums and found others with water ingress.
I had the invertor checked, And yes there is clear signs of water within the AC 3.0 Invertor.
Well it's pretty clear that my system is not IP65 rated.
Can anyone advise if GivEnergy have any inhouse and or independent IP rating certifications, or are they just claiming that it's rated?

MadProfessor2002 All depends on how the installer put the seals back once finished wiring it up.
