Ohme tip

Forgive me if it's already here, but theres no way (at present) to reduce an Ohme from full power charging.
But on a sunny day I might like to trickle some charge from it, not at full power.
There's a work around.....
Do 'Manage my vehicle', then 'Switch Car '
Choose 'Other'
From the vehicle makes select 'Solar' (it strangely has a Merc logo).
Then you can choose the lower charge rate you want (1.4, 2, 3kW) for your trickle instant charge.
Ohme say they are working on an easier way to achieve this, but in the meantime......

Yeah that’s the only way at the moment (you can just pick other cars with slower chargers and it does much the same - the 3.3kW leaf for example)
I did ask them to make these Solar ones not hard stop the charge when changing between the different power levels - not sure if they ever did that as I don’t generally use it for solar.

The old skinny ones will likely never get anything more than this for solar.
The Ohme Pro (rounded square ones) do have a CT clamp so really should be able to do solar matching but Ohmes devs appear to work at a snails pace so why it is taking so long is beyond me.

They also shot down my API assisted solar matching so I stopped wasting my time.

I can use the car to limit the charge rate. My PHV allows the charge rate to be dropped to around 1.8kW but I like the option to do it on the Ohme itself. I have the Ohme Pro but it isn't very smart at the moment (the car is smarter).

alan_johnston I'm hoping the Ohme development will be retro upgradeable to my Pro, and not only on the next 'Pro 2' version of the charger!

I've just been on the Ohme website and noticed a new product called the 'ePod':

There website is shockingly poor, so i;ve emailed to ask if it's solar aware, and interlligent octopus compatatbility..

Do either of you know anything about this new model?

Pretty sure it's IO compatible. It might get solar update in the future but currently none of the Ohme range support smart solar matching.
