Timed charge upper limit being ignored

As the days are getting longer, I want to reduce my overnight Octopus Go battery charge from 100% down to 40%. Timed charge to 100% during the Octopus Go off-peak window has been working fine ever since my system was installed in October; however, now that I'm trying to change it, I'm hitting problems.

I have tried multiple resets to default. Eco mode is on, and my battery charges to 100% between 00:30 and 04:30. I've tried adjusting the charge % down to 40 % both through the web portal and the app, but the inverter ignores the new setting and charges to 100%. I've reset to defaults and reconfigured everything three days in a row, and every day the 40% max is ignored.

Any suggestions?

Do you have the Octopus Go tariff automation turned on? If so it will always charge to 100% and ignore any charge target set.

BrettDavis as @judgepd says check the automation in the portal. If you also have GivTCP running check the Smart Target option to make sure it's disabled as well.

Cdent Sorry if its a stupid question, but I can see anything like a "smart" target. I've got GivTCP hooked up to Home Assistant, but I don't see any sensors with a name like that.

On the "Smart Tariff" card the left most tab marked "Tariff Automation" make sure the 00:30-04:30 automation is switched off.

I had a customer with the exact same thing and it was due to the Tariff Automation being switched on by default when he set up Octopus GO on the GE portal

BrettDavis so if you go into HA, then add ons, GivTCP and finally configuration Smart Target will be just above your GEAPI field. It's a toggle in there and in winter basically overrides your target SoC
