Octo R&D scheduler did not send charge signal last night

Octo R&D scheduler did not send charge signal last night and I only noticed when I got up in the middle of the night to let the the cat in.
My history tab does not even show the signal being issued and/or any error.

Worrying as this is really the only way to get an off peak charge and then a day charge just before peak import time so battery is full.
GE only has a single timed charge slot

SteveCook there was a notice on the site the other day saying it would be down for maintenance so this will by why. The second GE charging slot has been mentioned before, hopefully it's something that'll be done soon with Flux now in place

But I guess unless one sees the notice and then takes it in at the time, the info is lost.
I went to R&D last night at 02:30 and all appeared normal and no notice showing.

SteveCook Good day for it not t have happened though. Now you can charge before today's saving session starts to make more money back!

SteveCook you'd think they'd email the users of the service before an event. Not many people will visit daily if their setup is working well

same again last night.
Octo R&D just did not issue the 02:00 - 05:00 charge commands.
It also has not corrected for BST and was charging up to 16:30 - pre peak import top up. I guess I will need to manaully move that

Same again tonight for export.
Schedule is 16:00-19:00.
The first four half hour instructions were issued, but then stopped at 18:00 and no reset to Eco issued either.
I have emailed them again.

And again last night.
No signal to charge sent from R&D at 02:00
Is this an Octo R&D issue not sending the signal
A GE issue not receiving and/or sending it on to my inverter
An issue with my inverter not receiving it.

To me it looks like R&D not sending it as there are no events recorded for last night on R&D history, even if they failed it records a note

SteveCook Morning Steve, I'm seeing similar as well on my setup, so you're not alone and I have the identical issue that Octopus R&D is not sending schedule updates to my inverter.

Bit annoying as its the only way I can "reliably" set up two individual charge sessions each day without having to manually change inverter settings via Givenergy app/website.

Next step is to build home automation on a NAS or Pi but that's a bit more involved and it's a shame as the Octopus R&D was relatively simple to implement....

Well Octo R&D send the charge commands last night, and according to my GE Remote Control History they were received, but looking at the graph, the inverter did not do anything and battery was flat this morning.
Is there a problem with signals getting from GE portal to the inverter?

Yesterday there were several outages on GE side. Manifested differently to the usual such that inverter readings were being updated but any actual commands didn’t make it to the inverter. Likewise if you logged out the app or portal you couldn’t get back in again.

This was from morning to afternoon and then another outage in the evening pretty much the same.

I thought that might be it, but the notification on the portal was cleared yesterday afternoon.
The notification on my portal still says cleared, but the red exclamation mark will not go away

I have given upon Octo R&D due to charge anxiety.
I will use the GE inverter settings and use 02:00 to 15:30 charge slot.
I assume that these settings sit on the inverter and will not be affected by commands not getting passed between Octo and GE servers
Hopefully things will get better

That's correct. Once you've set a schedule or mode via the Givenergy portal or the app, the inverter just does that until it's told something different. While Octopus should be congratulated on it's progress in delivering better flexibility for its customers, there is an issue with the process they have adopted in that it requires working communications between their cloud service and the manufacturer's cloud and then to the inverters. Since commands are sent "real time" (AFAIAA), the internet links between each part of the process need to be available at the time of the change. If they're not, then the command is lost, unless there's end to end error checking. IMHO, There is definitely something to be said for shorter lines of communication, ideally hosted by the inverter.
