Battery charge / discharge

10 days in and not really understanding how this system actually works, I note that the battery isn’t charging or discharging- it’s idol - any ideas on what I should be doing or looking for?

Things that may help us help you. What have you had installed? Panels,, inverter, battery size(s) all helps.
As a starter for 10:
Has the system completed 'Calibration' Check by looking in 'Notifications' at the top of the Portal Left hand Blue menu bar.
Does the battery show any lights, if so, what?
In the Portal go to "My Inverter" > SETTINGS -
1) Is ECO 'Enabled'?
2) Are all other settings 'Disabled'?
A good starting point may be to "RESET TO DEFAULTS" > SUBMIT and make sure you get a positive acknowledgement.

Sorry its been a while "thank you for your advice it was really helpful" these problems have been overcome.

I now have a problem with the battery which isn't taking a full charge from the panels, only from the grid and then at peak evening time the battery feeds back the grid.

When you say not fully charging is there enough sun and generation?

Take the generation, minus the house load for the day and approximately what is left is what can go in the battery.

Say 10kWh generation, 6kWh use so 4 is left.
With a 9.5kWh battery it can’t add more than about 45% to wherever the battery was before.
If it’s at 30% then solar as above would take you to about 75% not full.
