As a "newbie" can anyone tell me when (if) the app will update to show the correct time as mine is still on GMT so all data is an hour out of date? Is there something I need to do to correct this?
App still showing GMT?
I have an (almost) similar question. I live in the UK, my time zone is set to GMT-1 and my time is displaying correctly on my dashboard. So far all good.... but... I am on the Octopus Go tariff so should benefit from cheap electricity between 0030-0430 @ 12kWh.
However, when I look in my dashboard the smart tariff shows that my cheap rate runs from 2330 - 0330 i.e. its 'shifted' left by an hour. This matters because I have set our car to charge between 0030 and 0430 as per the Go Tariff so I am not charging at the optimal time...
So, as per the original post, do I need to do anything even though my time is actually showing correctly?
lisap66 Check your inverter is set to BST by going to web portal -account settings - sync inverter time.
The Mighty King Tubby my time zone is set to GMT-1
The timezone is a misnomer. It should be renamed "Europe/London" or similar. For UK, the correct timezone is GMT, even during the summer. If the inverter logs aren't right, set your timezone to GMT (web portal - account settings) and do the sync thing above to get your inverter synchronised to the correct (UK-BST) time. The inverters are supposed to be updated to reflect the change to daylight savings time twice per year but maybe that fails on some inverters.
I just wish there was a way to leave them in UTC all year round and use the local timezone in your PC/phone to display the current time.
Thank you, I will give that a try. Does that mean I have to change the time zone again in the winter?
The Mighty King Tubby no. Givenergy will update the time on the inverter remotely in late October and if that doesn’t work just do the sync inverter thing soon after but leave the time zone set to GMT (for UK) all year round.

The solution suggested seems to have worked. Many thanks Tim

Thanks for the suggestion however, it doesn't seem to make any difference whether it is set on GMT or GMT+1 (no BST setting) - the app still shows the data as at 14.00 when I checked it at 15.04.
Am I misunderstanding something here?
lisap66 did you sync your server time? If you’re in the UK, leave the time one as GMT all the time.
Tim similar issue. It's 2:15pm and logs showing 1:14pm. Have tried the Sync date time option but problem persists. This means it's more difficult to schedule battery charging to fit into Octopus Go time windows eg if I want to start charging at 3:30am what time should I change my battery charge start time to???
jimgardner Give Gievenergy a call or web chat. It sounds like there's something amiss with your setup.
Tim
I am in the UK, the time is set as GMT and I have synced the server time but the app is still showing 18.19 despite the actual time being 19.22.
lisap66 if you really do mean the (iOS or Android) app, where are you seeing the time?
If you mean the web portal (https://www.givenergy.cloud/dashboard), do you mean the time in the logs? Sometimes you have to refresh the portal card to get it to load the most recent data. HTH
lisap66 Did you ever get this sorted? My readings on the app were an hour behind so I have just been in to settings and discovered we were on GMT-1. I have changed it to GMT and Synced the change to be sure, but the inverter graph is showing as an hour ahead (data up to 14.00) and the app is still showing latest data up to 12.00...
emjay74 Try doing an inverter time syn from your account settings on the portal. If it doesn't pick up the right time, give Givenergy a call.

No luck - the app (Android) is still showing the time as an hour behind actual time - at the moment, the app is showing 2023-09-08 10:40whereas the actual (UK) time is 11:40. The web portal is also showing 11:40.
lisap66 last updated time? Mine does that too.
Think the app needs to convert the time to BST but doesn’t.
Presume it won’t be a problem soon!
Does it impact anything other than the display?
Can you set times correctly in the settings for example? (Although some say use the web portal for changes not the app).
TX200 - app refreshes every 30 minutes but since the change to BST, it's always an hour behind!
Like you say it won't be a problem after the end of October.....
Checked with the portal and all the data is also an hour behind - all times have been set and re-set using both the portal and the app.......surely I can't be the only person this is affecting??
I wouldn't be concerned but as we are now on Octopus Flux the export tariff increases at certain times and I can't see on the app the correct time we are exporting energy.
More though, we could specify export and import times to maximise on their rates but I darent shift off Eco while my head can't get round the time differences on the app!
