I have just had a 9.2kw battery installed.
So far it appears to be working pretty good, but I have a question on grid supply.
When solar is producing enough to supply house and charge battery, the grid icon show import of power. This varies between about 5w and 40w and fluctuates quite quickly.
I would have expected this to be zero under conditions as above.
Is this a feature of data sampling time?
Or, is there something else going on?

IanMc just ignore it as "noise"
look at the energy usage charts, it'll likely not be actually registering it as its so small.
I sometimes get peaks of grid import because the battery is slightly laggy to pick up demand, which you might also see.
The system cannot adjust to constantly adjusting house load instantaneously, so what you are seeing is the constant slight 'lag', as the system is trying to keep up. Apparently future software updates will improve the response time of the system, to minimise this effect even more.
I have looked there and a small amount of power flow is being recorded. Sometimes its exporting, sometimes importing, all while pv supply is well above house demand and the battery is receiving some charge
ToothyChris Thanks, that what I suspected as lag in data sampling.
What I described is lag in the system response itself. But the data you see also lags as well. To get (almost) instantaneous readings, use the 'Home' view in the App., which is updated every 10 seconds.
ToothyChris Is it possible to add a small bias to the target, to compensate for this. i.e. rather than aiming for 0 import/export, have it aim for around 50W export, say, so that the fluctuations just result in small changes to the amount of export.
ToothyChris I am seeing this fluctuation whilst in 'Home@ view.
Another feature I have just spotted is when a load (eg kettle) is turned on, the grid supplies the demand for a couple of seconds before the battery takes over.
Am I right to assume this is system lag as well?
IanMc yes, all the same thing and quite normal.
DD I am not sure that is possible and I don't think it would help anyway.
