The app is showing the system in the away tab even though I am at home and connected to the WiFi network. I am unable to find the inverter, why is this?

Try opening the app settings, select local monitoring and see if there is a IP address listed already such as 192.168.1.xxx.
If not, tap “Search for local inverter and if it finds an IP address, enter that in the IP table. If a green tick appears next to it, you should be able to exit the set up, tap “local” next to the “away” button and it should find your inverter and start updating every ten seconds. Good luck!

I have lost hte local connection view on the app. If I search for the inverter ip, it is not found but I know it is xxx.xxx.xxx.83. In fact this IP is found if I uninstall and re-install the app. Howver, all the phones in the house that had the app working for the last 9 months now cannot 'locally' monitor the system - (for about the last 2 weeks). Clearly the dongle is working becasue I can monitor the system remotely.

Any advice would be greatly apprecated.

I sometimes get this and have to 'close' the app (swipe it away if you get my drift) and then re-open it.

Ra Thank you Ra. We all tried this and even re-installed the app.
We also restarted the inverter, plus we checked for updates and cleared the app data on the phones.

Still no joy sadly.

AllanSullivan Thats not good then, unfortunately I have exhausted all my knowledge already so hopefully someone who knows more than me will be along shortly.

AllanSullivan what phone are you using? On Apple devices you need to enable location permissions for the app/network or something like that. I don't have one so can't check myself, but others have mentioned this to get it working before.

I had the same issue. No help from installers or Givenergy. I have sorted it myself tonight. Search for your inverter via monitoring. When it’s found. Click on it go back to dashboard and it worked for me. 4 damn weeks I’ve wanted help for this!! Good luck.

On iPhone, I had to allow access to Local Network in the Settings for the GivEnergy app before it could find the inverter IP Address during the search.

Clive If you have multiple wifi ssids in use in your house it is possible that when you come back to the house and the phone connects to wifi it could connect to one of the other ssids (ie one not used by your inverter) if the phone has previously connected to them. This happens to me and i end up checking which ssid my phone has connected to.

My connection directly to my router has always been hit and miss. Having changed my provider a few days ago and using their Wi-Fi 6 router it’s faultless! I think that my network was so congested it was the problem but now solved!
