Hi...Just had the battery and inverter fitted....two 9.5kW batteries and a 3KW inverter. Am I missing something or am I correct in assuming that the inverter can only be forced to charge over a single interval in the 24 hour cycle. Economy 7 tarrif usually has a 2 hour cheap rate, followed by 4 hour peak rate followed by 5 hour cheap rate. With a single charge schedule not only am I missing the capability to charge over the first 2 hour cheap rate interval but the battery will continue to supply the house if the inverter detects current draw from the grid at this time when electricity is off peak.
Surely there must be some way of setting a second charge schedule in the 24 hour cycle

It has a scheduler. I found I had to leave a 30min slot between events to allow my GE inverter to recice the signal and act upon it without getting adjoining schedules mixed up.

leebalddwin , my Economy 7 is a single 7 hour period, from 00:30 to 07:30, which is with Octopus Energy in the East Midlands. Different historical electricity board regions may well have different time periods for the 7 hours. Your 7 hours may well be usual for your region, but not necessarily for the whole country.
At the moment I have an outstanding query with Octopus regarding the change from GMT to BST. Their website states Eco 7 is always in GMT, so mine would be 01:30 to 08:30 during BST, but having tried that for 1 car charge overnight that finished at 08:15 BST I found a extra unexpected few kWh on the day register of my SMETS2 meter.
Still waiting for a response, so effectively running as Eco 6 until they can 100% clarify. Am not prepared to have to work it out by experimentation, the supplier should be able to state exactly what time periods are being applied for the 2 tariffs.
leebalddwin If you hedge your bets until you can find a solution, the 5 hour window is almost enough to charge both Batt9.6 to 100% if starting at a low SoC. If you had two inverters, you'd have no difficulty with the off-peak window duration.
Apparently Givenergy are looking at a multi-period scheduler but since so many of their customers use either Octopus automations or their own Home Assistant (or other) automations, it's probably not top of their list of improvements.
