Anyone else having issues with their Iboost overriding the batteries? Mine will run happily in parallel for a time then the Iboost takes over and the battery start discharging to feed my immersion
It appears to be most common when there is good sun feeding my panels and then a cloud comes over and cuts production then as the cloud passes and production ramps up ( we have 8 Kw of panels ) the iboost cuts in first before the battery soaking up all the power and sometimes the battery starts to feed the immersion when the sun goes in.
I have lowered the Iboost to the 500 watt setting but it still occurs. I do not believe the Iboost is that quick to cut out.

yep same here... it seems worse on windy cloudy days where sun pops out over and over, the iBoost will always beat the inverter, so will steal power that should be charging the battery, and sometimes exports power from the battery to power the iBoost. It's... annoying.

I've got mine set to 300w export to trigger, but still have issues. So at the moment I have the iBoost on a timer to only turn on from 1200pm, to give me at least the morning to fully charge the battery. A new firmware coming will make the inverter react quickly (hopefully quicker than iBoost) so it doesn't stop a battery charge.

That doesn't help it stealing power from the battery though. It doesn't happen too often for me tbh, the problem is more it stealing "excess" which isn't excess, it should be charging the battery

I've got mine set to cut in at 150w and it works fine. When I set it to 200w the GE battery always was first to grab the export, but sometimes a little slow. Setting it to 150w the iboost does sometimes grab the export before the battery, but only for a few seconds and less is lost to the grid overall. My iboost and inverter CT clamp are both in my meter box.

Exfarmer The problem with the iBoost is that it currently does not have a start delay time which is user configurable. The Eddi does so you can set it to wait at the threshold for a few seconds before kicking in - allowing the battery charge to get going first. I would have thought a simple firmware update for the iBoost could provide such a delay.

If we do have a day where the sun is out/in/out/in etc the iboost will steal a few seconds of energy until the inverter kicks in but never seen it taking it from the battery. Mine is set to 200W

In my experience it only runs for a second or two. Totally irrelevant in the great scheme of things.

Sine the iBoost is (or should only be when properly set up) triggered when there is actual export to the grid, if an iBoost starts, and continues to take power from the batteries then I wonder if the iBoost CT clamp is in the wrong place?
Whilst mine has been seen to "steal" solar power away from the battery inverter when sunshine is intermittent, this is only a transient thing. I have never seen it actually take power from the batteries.
