Hi Everyone!
I have an issue with my system Not charging my car from the PV. I have hybrid inverter, 8 kWh battery and Zappi charger.
GE chose to charge battery instead of divert power to Zappi. Help please.

eco mode on the inverters will charge battery first as a priority. Only when there is excess will it go elsewhere...

Should it recognise the need for power from charger - even if the system sees Zappi as house? It was the case in past?

marcingu3, it all depends on which operating mode you set the Zappi to.

Zappi - Fast - Will draw whatever you have set as the Zappi device limit (usually 7.4 kW) until the car hits it's own %SoC limit that you can set. Some cars taper down the charge rate as they approach 100%. This will draw down from the GE battery, potentially at the maximum rate the battery/inverter can cope with regardless of the solar gen at the time.

Zappi - Eco - Will draw a minimum of 1.4 kW (according to the BEV charging standards), and will automatically ramp up when there is grid export exceeding the chosen Zappi Export Margin setting (often 100 W or 150 W when combined with a hybrid battery). Does not automatically stop when the solar gen drops off, but is useful on days with sunny spells when the average solar excess is around 1.4 kW as long as you remember to return the Zappi to Eco+ when the solar gen drops off.

Zappi - Eco+ - Will not start until there is a grid export of 1.4 kW or more, and will stop if the grid starts to detect import (or less than the set Export Margin). This can cause issues with some cars that do not like intermittent charging and end up in a sleep mode that requires a manual unlock, disconnect and reconnect or similar to restart the charge process.

The setting was on eco. It still was drawing 1.4 kW from grid instead of PV that was generating 2.6kW.
Zappi was showing that the PV was generating only 0.2 kW. In my opinion the inverter has got some sort of software bug.

marcingu3, if you aren't getting something like this then you may need to restart the inverter, or reset to defaults followed by configuring your required Timed Charge period and %SoC target etc.
