I have had my Zappi over a year and it worked exactly as it should when charging my car with any surplus solar generation. The Zappi has a CT clamp at the meter box and a CT clamp on the solar generation
Then 5 months ago I had my Givenergy battery installed. The installer placed another CT clamp within the meter box during this installation.
Now finally in the past few weeks I have been generating enough surplus solar to charge my car once the battery has been charged to 100%. (My Zappi is always set to charge by surplus solar only - Eco++)
This is where an issue occurs from time to time. Once the battery is full the Zappi then takes all the surplus and starts charging the car. But sometimes I am finding that not only is the car getting the solar surplus but also some chrage is being taken from the battery. This doesnt happen all the time though. I have noticed that sometimes, once the battery is full and the zappi is then charging with the surplus and then the cloud comes in so that my surplus genetration falls (below the 1.4kws that Zappi needs ) that the zappi keeps charging the car by taking power from the battery . Now this doesnt happen every time but its often enough. Then when the solar starts making loads of power again Zappi takes all that surplus but keeps taking power from the battery too.
If this happens and I then Pause the Givenergy battery in the Givenergy app, the Zappi then only takes the solar surplus again. After a few mins I press the Play button on the battery app. But after doing this pause then play routine Zappi only takes surplus solar.....
Any ideas why this annomaly is happening and how I might correct it so that Zappi never takes power from the battery? Thanks in advance
Hopefully my explaination above is clear?
