Changed modem and ip address

I just changed modem at home, will this effect my GV app?

Yeah, the inverter won't be able to talk to GivEnergy to upload data or talk to the app on home mode.

Best option is to change the name aka ssid and the password for your new modem/routers WiFi to what it was on the old one

Also search Google for KB GivEnergy Dongle and you should find the guide on resetting it if need be. But the quickest option is as above.

I will shortly be changing to a new router run by the Fibre company so I won't be able to alter its ssid and password. But I think my saving grace will be that I currently need a mains TP-Link in the garage to talk to the dongle, and that will probably still be required with the new router.

I have tried getting into the modem but the username and password (as printed on the back of the modem) don't work so I can't gain access to the modem settings. I am not skilled at this kind of thing, I'm also getting on on years a bit so things are slowing down too.

I'll try searching google. If can't find anything will need to try and get an engineer out to it

But seems to not want to restart. Modam is still flashing.

GazzaGreen It's not clear what chnages you tried to make. What make/model modem/router are you using ? And posting the url as you did for your device logon doesn't mean folks here will see it. A 10. ip address isn't internet routable. I would also recommend against making your modem/router's management interface directly accessible to the internet. Generally most home routers have a small reset switch that you have to press for 5-10s whilst the device is on or being switched on. That normally resets the kit back to factory defaults. And depending upon your device and internet service provider the device will either reset to the username/password printed on the back of the kit or to whatever the device vendor's defaults are - those should be listed in the vendor's user manual.

I finally cracked it. Took 5 hours but the app is now connected to the inverter via router. I did it through a mobile rather than using desktop computer by using the setup WiFi Dongle in the app settings.
