Flux incoming connected last week with flux outgoing connected a couple of days later.

I set the battery to charge during cheap rate hours and woke up to a high cost on the smart meter display box, far more than it should have been for cheap rate tariff.

Checking the prices on the meter display device, it shows a tariff of 35.06 at all times (yes I got up in the early hours of the morning to check during supposed cheap hours). Standing charge is set correctly at 42.01. Even more odd, is that 35.06 isn't any of the three different prices it should be as shown on my octopus import rates.
02:00 - 05:00
20.39p/kWh
05:00 - 16:00
33.98p/kWh
16:00 - 19:00
47.58p/kWh
19:00 - 02:00
33.98p/kWh

Something wrong, or is it normal for displays to show incorrect costs.? (individual and total)

Ulven speak to Octopus. It’s likely their tariff update of your meter hasn’t worked and they need to do it again. Hopefully the time of use slots have been updated otherwise they won’t be able to bill you correctly.

Thanks, I'll try phoning them when they open. Hopefully I don't have to spend too long on hold waiting to get through.

Got through to them and they said, not to worry, that the in home display doesn't always accurately reflect what you're going to be billed and that the bill would be correct...

She told me that a hard reset of the IHD might help and that I should unplug it for 48hrs to do this. 48 hours seems like a long while for a hard reset, but I'll do as instructed.

Ulven, the 48 hours may be how long it takes for the battery to go flat in the IHD. Then when you power back up it is reading the meter afresh.
