I have set the battery to discharge to home from 16:00 - 02:00 however i find that the eco option also toggles on and the battery continues to discharge during the day also.
How do i restrict the battery to only discharge between the set time? Is it because i am crossing midnight?
Thanks!
Discharge outside of timed discharge period.

fothers Just after i got mune installed i tried to limit the discharge time to the house but all i seemed to do was discharge all my battery to the grid.. In the end i went back to eco and let the inverter do it's own thing. And now with improving solar conditions the battery is generally fully charged by around luch time or just after. So, plenty of charge to fill the 16:00 and onward to the house. Apart from having things like the oven plus kettle/toaster etc on athe same time i can generally run the house completley from the battery once the light fades as you can see from thr 26 - 27th. The 27th was very dull.. What is the reason that you want to restrict the discharge period for ?

I just wanted to halt discharge to the house in the overnight period because of EV charging from 2am, then the battery might still have a bit left in reserve to cover the morning routine before the solar gets going again.
I think the common method is eco + timed charge overnight. But set a low charge to percentage so it either drains the battery ready for the sunny day or only tops it up a bit.
Setting timed discharge and timed export can get messy when not using automation like Home Assistant or anything using GivTCP. Have a read of the other threads about timed discharge for more info on the issues.
One option is to set the battery discharge rate to zero overnight (it's in the battery options part of the MyInverter web page settings tab, or can be controlled by automation if you set that up).
fothers as @TX200 says, leave your inverter in Eco mode and set it for a timed charge for the same period as your EV. Your Givenergy battery will charge unless you set the Charge to % to a lowish value in which case it will charge the EV until it gets to that value then “bobble” along until the end of the timed charge period when it reverts to Eco
