Hello,
I am a new owner of the 3kw ac coupled inverter and 1x8.2 kw battery. I did an inverter firmware update on 28/01/2021 which worked fine and there was no battery firmware update showing. I am on 3002. I had a google to find there is/was a 3005 battery firmware - also mentioned in these forums. How is this delivered ? will I see it as an auto update in the portal or is that firmware not released yet ?
Thanks
Martin

The beta portal and the inverter card has an option to update the firmware. Suggest you do it when the battery is discharged as if it works (no guarantee at the moment but givenergy are working at it) it will do a full calibration which will discharge to grid if there is no other load available before fully charging.

anglefire Yes thanks, that is where I updated the inverter without issue. I am trying to find out about battery firmware as there was nothing there to update in the portal but I think there is a newer version in the wild.

It’s the same place for the battery. It may take a bit of time to recognise yours as needing an update. The firmware is delivered via the modbus link from the inverter. It runs at 57600 baud (or thereabouts) and although the file isn’t big it has a habit of failing.

My battery firmware (8.2kw) is showing software of 1040 but no option to upgrade….confused…!

Best advice I can give is to call or use the chat to get support from givenergy. They are very responsive in my experience.

The firmware update facility on the beta portal has been (temporaily?) withdrawn as so many people were having issues with it (myself included).
I finally got both the inverter and battery firmware updated with help from support, and that involved taking files they emailed me and dropping them onto the Inverter wifi dongle and also onto each battery USB stick. In other words, quite a manual procedure, although not difficult if you have some technical background.

I believe the "over the air" update facility may return at some time once the bugs are worked out of it, but it would be good if givenergy themselves could comment on that..............

What's odd is that last night I logged in to the beta portal and the firmware update button was visible, so I clicked and my AC went up to D0.534-A0.534 on all 3, though the batteries stayed at 1039, 1040 and 1040. Not sure now whether the button has vanished because everything is up to date (not sure how it can be if one battery is 1039) or if the new firmware hid it for now or what.
