Saw this on Linked In - hard to tell if this is new news / official press release!??

Generation 3 is here.

We first launched our flagship hybrid inverter product back in 2017. Now, after more than 5 years of continued R&D, the GivEnergy Gen-3 hybrid inverter is ready to reveal.

Our third generation of hybrid inverter delivers:

⚡Improved efficiency
⚡ Improved charge and discharge power, 3.6kW
⚡ Higher current string capability, 15A up from 13A (Gen 2), and 11A (Gen 1)
⚡ A sleek curved front design

To flexibly serve customer needs, the Gen-3 product is available in two different power capacities:

• Gen-3 hybrid inverter 3.6kW
• Gen-3 hybrid inverter 5.0kW

And, as ever, the product is accessibly priced and built to last.

That last photo looks outdoors. Hope there's a canopy above it. 😁

charge and discharge is still 3.6kw so it seems the improvement over G2 is unspecified efficiency gains and higher string currents, which would be useful for new installs but of no use for existing customers which have the upgrade itch. Assuming the system was specced properly.

The IP rating/canopy question still needs resolving IMO.

My installers stated they have never installed a canopy over an external system, nor earthed the battery on any system.

To be fair, given todays Gen 2 used to be called Gen 1.5 & this Gen 3 was originally going to be Gen 2 it was never going to be a monumental upgrade for the end user more iterative engineering out problems:
i.e. Installers may be a bit happier as this one should have the sockets for the fancy orange battery cables now using both ends & the lower black cover does tidy all the usual cable spaghetti mess out the way underneath.

One would hope the IP rating / canopy issue has been engineered out in this new enclosure as that is a bit of an oddity that could/should be removed really.
I believe the batteries front covers are now also curved to match, along with the EV charger - whether this is something you'd be able to buy if you already have an old one OR even get different covers / textures to match is another unknown but not a bad idea to blend in a bit better to wherever they get installed.
