I’m soon to get my first EV and am therefore in the market for a wall charger
Is there a chance GE will do one as staying in the ecosystem would seen better, especially as I want control over charging priority. Also is there anything out there that is car to house enabled that works with the 5 GE hybrid inverter I have? Seems a shame to not make use of a 50kWh car battery attached to the house!
V2G (vehicle to grid) has to be built into the car. If the manufacturer hasn't built in that capability then nothing external can enable it.
There was talk from GE of integrating EV chargers into the portal when they launched the beta site, it was “coming soon” for a few weeks, but no updated now for months.
We are working on some integration of 3rd party EV charge points whilst also developing our very own GivEnergy EV charger. The difficulty with 3rd party products is that there are few official APIs available to bring them into our platform.
Danlambert (GivEnergy) Would it be possible to see a list of who you are integrating with? This would of helped me when picking a charger. Integration into a cycle ecosphere would be massively beneficial!
THALL They were working with MyEnergi for the zappi in November according to my installer who spoke to GivEnergy support. I have sent a message to the CTO of MyEnergi to ask him where they are.
mjkelly5a It would be really great if GE would post a list of projects, even if those die off it would be handy to know. Like hearing rumour about an AC5 and bigger KW battery, it would be great to just have a "yes we are looking at it, rough eta 12 months" even if after 18 months the follow up was "project not viable, wont happen". Integration with car chargers, home heating systems etc. Not to mention I have been on this forum since the day it opened and can see lots of people with time and skills who would be happy to test features for GE etc. Massive resource of knowledge available on here.
Danlambert (GivEnergy) I will soon be requiring an EV charger & already have a GE system installed.
Have you an approximate quarter of availability for these chargers?

Darren41 I would phone them or try web chat for an answer. I have contacted them to get ETA's on the EMS device via those methods.
I just pinged the webchat and got the following response:
"We are hoping for end of June, but we do not have a exact date at the moment"
moz Yeah, I get something similar when asking about the EMS. Been told hoping for quarter 2.

Smk82 No it's a desert. Usually MyEnergi are good to go but have issues with the 3rd parties. GivEnergy are now in the charger business so I suspect it's died a death.
