My EV has a battery of 62KW and the ability to provide V2L through a cable. Could I transfer power from the EV to the battery in times of no solar power or even to store overnight cheap power and fill the house battery during the day (or night)?
philipdawsonladds I don't think you can direct it to the battery specifically, but if you set your battery to charge between a certain time, and the EV to discharge at the same time I imagine that would cover it. I could be completely wrong though.
Maybe something the GE charger will allow
My EV has V2L with a cable too, the issue is there is no proper way at the moment to plug the car in to the house to back feed the house's circuits.
If you google "back feed house from V2L" you'll see quite a few forum posts about people doing some real bodge jobs to get it 'working' but I don't fancy it myself.
As far as I know, there are very few EVSE out there that allow Vehicle-to-House or Vehicle-to-Grid. The Wallbox Quaser is one, but they are about £4K. Hellish difficult to justify a ROI at that price.
V2L can only provide a relatively small amount...something like 13 amps? Hardly worth bothering with.
