Only seeing data from one string

Hi folks, I've got a new system and I'm still trying to figure everything out. One thing that bothers me is that I only see power from one string, but I have panels on both the East and West sides of my roof.

When I page through the values on the GroWatt inverter I can see entries for both strings:

and the sum of these power values is around about the 5+ kW assigned to PPV1.

I'm wondering if this is just a display issue or is something wrong with the installation?

Thanks for your help.

I'm assuming you have an AC connected GivEnergy inverter, with a separate inverter for the solar panels.

Thus the solar inverters convert the solar to AC, which is connected to your consumer unit.

The GivEnergy AC Inverter monitors the AC output of the solar inverter, along with the grid import/export.

Thus GE gets the combined data and records it all as string 1 at its end.

Hi TX200 I think that must be right - the panels are connected to a GroWatt MIN 6000TL-X. This then seems to feed into a GivEnergy Giv-AC 3.0.

So, I guess there is nothing to worry about - all is as expected?

You'll also find your VPV1 values are actually just the AC voltage of your house at the time the reading is taken. So they won't move around as much as a true PV string does because it has no idea what the string voltage is.

Yes. The AC3 doesn't get that data from your GroWatt, so all it can show you is what it can see, which as far as it is concerned is all just whatever the current and voltage that your GroWatt is pumping out.
