I have the option to update Battery firmware. I don't really have any issues with the battery. It occasionally jumps from say 95% to full, but it's never an issue. I am waiting for the inverter firmware update as I have the issue where generation stops (for a while) when the battery gets full.

I'm on flux and generally now exporting more than I'm using and seeing a positive balance most days.

I've seen some mixed experiences on here with the update and don't want to create issues where there aren't any.

Also, if I do choose to update, which requires a calibration, is this best when closest to empty (say first thing in the morning though still normally 50% then) or possible to time so it discharges say midnight to 2am and then recharges on the cheap rates?

It's all a minefield (though keeps me interested over the past couple of months).

Any recommendations?

If it's working okay, probably no hurry to update the battery firmware.

But if you decide to do it, probably best to do it when the battery is nearly empty on a day when it's going to be quite sunny. Or use the discharge to power appliances in your house (washing machine etc).

If you have a timed charge, turn that off for the night and let the battery run down.

You should be able to adjust the charge rate down a bit once the calibration has started, then as the generation improves, increase the charge rate again.
